At Bear Tough we offer probably the most comprehensive soundproofing packages available for your Land Rover Defender. Whether it’s to reduce driver fatigue, improve your audio systems clarity or just to be able to hold a conversation with your passengers our 5 stage process is for you.
5 Stage Process
Interior Removal & Clean
First the interior is removed, including the seats, headlining, carpets, mats, door cards and window surrounds.
All surfaces are then cleaned and degreased.
Inspection, Treatment & Paint
The interior panels are then inspected, treated for any corrosion and painted to ensure the foundation of your vehicle is as good as possible.
Stage One
Stage One is a heavy foil-backed butyl sheet that’s hand cut and fitted to each panel to reduce vibrations.
This is applied under pressure and heat to ensure a water-proof application that will not only improve your vehicle acoustically but also help keep the weather on the outside!
Stage Two
Stage Two is the application of closed-cell foam to the upper surfaces to reduce airborne noise reflection.
This is the most noticeable when the vehicle is at a standstill as it gives the high-class interior sound to the vehicle.
Stage Three
Stage Three is the application of mass-loaded foam layer that offers both acoustic and thermal benefits.
Not only does this improve the acoustic isolation of the cabin, but it also helps keep the cabin cooler in summer and warmer in winter – and stops your leg from cooking against the transmission tunnel!
Finally the interior is refitted to your vehicle. We can either reuse your original interior or supply and fit a new interior to a colour and style of your choice at extra cost.
